DIRTVision set for live broadcast of C. Bell’s Micro Mania, Sept. 22-24

The inaugural event will feature drivers like Kyle Busch, Christopher Bell and Owen Larson

Featuring some of the biggest names in NASCAR and Micro Sprint racing, DIRTVision will broadcast live every lap of the inaugural C. Bell’s Micro Mania at Lil’ Texas Motor Speedway, Thursday to Saturday, Sept. 22-24.

The event will see more than 100 Outlaw Non-Wing and more than 30 Jr. Sprint drivers participate in the event, including event promoter Christopher Bell, Kyle Busch, John Hunter Nemechek, Daniel Hemric, Sheldon Creed, Brexton Busch and Owen Larson.

A total purse of $50,440 is on the line for the three-day event, which will see a division-high $10,000-to-win for Saturday’s Micro Feature, along with an extra $10,000 bonus which would be split amongst the top-10 finishers that beat Bell.

“The idea came about several years ago when I came to one of my first ever NASCAR races at Texas Motor Speedway and they were racing Legends cars off the backstretch at Lil’ Texas (Motor Speedway),” Bell said. “I was like, ‘Man, this would be really cool to have a Micro Sprint race on NASCAR weekend and showcase – at the time I was a full-time Micro racer – our sport to the NASCAR crowd.’

“That was probably 2009-2010. I went to Kenton Nelson at Texas Motor Speedway with the idea. He fell in love with it. He loved the idea. The Lil’ Texas asphalt track needed a repave anyway. He was like, ‘Well, let’s just tear it up and make it a dirt track.’”

With the extensive number of entries, there will be split fields for the Micro race with competitors either running on Thursday, Sept. 22, or Friday, Sept. 23. They’ll accumulate points those preliminary nights to set the field of Saturday’s main event.

“The turnout has been really incredible to see how many entries we’ve had and how much excitement there has been,” Bell said. “I hope we put on a great show. That’s the biggest thing. I hope it’s a great race.”

Lil’ Texas Motor Speedway was converted this year to a 1/5-mile dirt track with 12-degrees of banking in the corners. The C. Bell’s Micro Mania will be its first national event.

Hot Laps are scheduled to start at 7 p.m. (CT) each night, followed by racing at 7:30 p.m. (CT).
